Ringling here I come.

So here I am waiting to board my plane to Sacramento. I am meeting up with the one and only Ringling Brothers circus!!! I will be traveling around with them for a few months. I am super excited. I am pumped to see the difference between a little mud show and a big show like Ringling.

Oh Canada!

On my adventure with Circus Spectacular, I journeyed to the distant land of Canada. On the Canadian part of the tour we performed in tiny hockey arenas and were only in towns for one day. Different town every day. The roads were really bad. They were bumpy and small. The drive to Norway House was really bad. We had to take a ferry to get there. Norway house was by far the smallest town we played.
In Canada I was working concessions. I'd get up every morning and load in the equipment, popcorn machine, snowkone machines, cotton candy machine etc. After that I'd help cook hot dogs and pop popcorn. I learned how to spin cotton candy candy. A few injuries later I got really good at it. During the show I'd sell. After the show we would clean and load everything up and start all over again the next day.
For the Canadian run of the tour Cindy brought in a few new acts. The X metal riders were one of those acts. The BMX guys were great. They were fun and full of energy. The Globe guys were also great! Leroy was especially entertaining.
Canada was a great experience. Even though it was hard, we still managed to have a lot of fun.

Life on the road

Life on the road is crazy but amazing! It has its ups and downs but I love it! I am so thankful for this experience! The people I have met on this tour are truly wonderful people, especially the Poema family. They have shown me nothing but kindness since I got here. They've "adopted" me. I am very thankful to them for taking me under their wing.
I am also very lucky to have met Nate. He is a very nice guy and one of my closest friends on the show. He is a fantastic juggler and an all around great guy. He is a very funny guy and always keeps me laughing along with everyone else on the show.
Next week circus spectacular is off to Canada for 16 days. I love life on the road and I am looking forward to leaving the US for the first time.

Fully Charged!!!!!!!!!

This week I had the pleasure of watching Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey present Fully Charged! It was a fun show full of wonderful acts, bright lights and music.

One of my favorite acts in the show was the Danguir Troupe. They did a High Voltage High Wire Act. It was a high energy act. Mostafa Danguir is the Troupe leader. He is light on his feet. He makes the act. He is full of energy and personality. He does a trick called the leap of faith which is where he jumps from the shoulder of one guy to the shoulders of another. It was fantastic!!!

Another one of my favorite acts was the Human Fuse! The Human Fuse (Brain Miser) is a human cannonball act but instead of being fired from a regular cannon he is fired from a giant cross bow. What really makes this act special is that Brain Miser is ON FIRE while he is flying through the air! It is an amazing site to see!

CLOWNS!!!! The Ringling Bros clowns are always great to see. They were very funny. They did a gag where they were trying to change a giant light bulb. It was too funny. The clowns are always one of my favorite parts of a Ringling show. I had the pleasure of going into clown alley and meeting the clowns. They are all super nice guys.

Over all Fully Charged was a good show. The acts were great. The clowns were funny and the music is still stuck in my head!

Next week I will be driving to Greenville SC to see the brand new Dragons show! Stay tuned!

Magic at the Beach 2011

I just got home from Magic at the Beach. This years convention was amazing! So many great people. The performers were fantastic! The shining star of the convention though had to be Xavier Mortimer from France. He made his US debut at MATB. He has some great original acts. If you ever get the chance to see Mr. Mortimer perform...DO IT!
The Magic at the Beach convention gets better and better every year. I cannot wait to see what they have in store for 2013!
